Notes

Going into this, i know i want a few things. i want there to be a theme of escaping your role in the narrative (including things like june and jane transitioning), i want the points in time that mspar visits to be more varied, and i want callie to make an appearance. i also want to make the relationships mspar forms with the characters to be a bit more reasonable, and just to be a bit more. sympathetic to them? point out that they are teenagers? yeah.

And now, the notes i have upon my replay. (liveblogging?)

Volume 1

Script

What a lovely day.

The agonizing pain of the weird house thingy is gone, and replaced with a sense of deja vu.

This... isn't Alternia. This is Earth. But how did you get to Earth?!

Oh, yeah. Zapping about. You guess that's what you're doing now.

Gosh, this better not get inconvenient.

Suddenly, looking at the house, you realise what about it is looking so familiar. That balcony with a strange machine atop it...

You'd recognise this house anywhere! Or, rather, this home...

But, wait. If there's already an alchemiter on the balcony, that must mean...

As your danger senses tingle, you suddenly remember that OH SHIT, RIGHT, THERE'S A METEOR COMING FOR THIS HOUSE IN A PRETTY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME!

Thinking quickly, you dart close to the house, clinging to the walls like a friend-shaped little spider, as a blue flash envelops the house and (for the second time today),

The world

fades

away.

You haven't moved when the world fades back in, but the world you fade into is pretty different.

The house is stood on a small pillar of ground, only a little larger than the house itself. Around you is darkness, below you is a very long fall.

And the Land of Wind and Shade somewhere. You remember your lore. It would be very silly and contrived had you forgotten the comic you literally just read.

As you shuffle away from the wall, a voice calls out to you from atop the balcony.

[June confused]: "hello?"

Oh. Uh. Hi.

You aren't sure why you're surprised to see John, seeing as it makes perfectly logical sense that he would be here.

[June confused]: "how long have you been standing there?"

Not that long! You, uh. Saw the meteor and tried to shelter by the home. You mean house.

[June looking away]: "oh! sorry about that."

Sorry about what?

[June embarassed]: "it's kind of a long story."

You can imagine.

[June neutral]: "well... do you want to come inside? it looks kind of precarious over there."

You take John's offer and sidle along the edge of the drop until you're at the front door.

[June neutral]: "oh, you will have to use the back door."

[June neutral]: "rose- she's my friend- she dropped this giant machine in front of it while playing this game called sburb that i'm pretty sure summoned that meteor."

[June looking away]: "actually, that sounds insane now i say it out loud."

You actually have no trouble whatsoever believing that.

[June confused]: "really?"

Your life is very weird.

[Scene change; fade into the inside of June's house]

[June embarassed]: "sorry about the mess."

Is that a bathtub?

[June annoyed]: "yep."

[June neutral]: "oh yeah, my room's in here by the way."

[Scene change; fade into June's room]

Wow. This is an awful lot of movie posters.

[June smiling]: "what can i say, i like movies!"

Don't most people?

[June thoughtful]: "i guess."

[June neutral]: "my friends think my taste in movies is kind of silly, though."

[June exclaiming]: "shit! i forgot to tell rose i'm not dead!"

John runs over to his computer and begins to type. You cannot help but snoop over his shoulder.

"EB: hey, yeah i'm here!

EB: and not dead i think.

TT: I know.

TT: I've been watching you scramble through the house like a lunatic.

TT: You should have answered me sooner.

EB: oh man, sorry, i was looking around for my dad and i can't find him anywhere!

EB: have you seen him?

TT: No. I'm sure he'll turn up.

TT: We have more important things to address right now.

EB: yeah, like where am i??

TT: I was referring to the strange person hovering over your shoulder."

Sorry, you say as John turns around. You couldn't resist curiosity.

[June neutral]: "you know what, i don't mind that much. i'd just have to tell you what we were talking about anyway."

"EB: oh, that's just my new friend!

TT: "Friend?"

EB: yeah, he accidentally got brought here with me.

EB: she? i'm not sure.

TT: I see.

TT: S/he isn't aggressive?

EB: that's a weird question. i don't think so?

TT: Only, from what I've read, you're supposed to start seeing hostile entities appearing around this time.

TT: Although, I will admit, s/he doesn't seem particularly dangerous."

She's right, you're not!

You're only dangerous by accident.

"EB: s/he says that that's right.

TT: I see.

TT: To answer your earlier question, I don't know where you are. But I've determined your neighborhood was destroyed by the meteor. Wherever you were transported, it saved you from the impact.

TT: I've been reading reports in the news. Over the last few days, there have been many smaller meteor collisions with people's homes around the world.

TT: And they seem to be getting bigger. Yours was the biggest they've identified so far."

You debate explaining the situation. Then you wonder how effective you'd be if you prototyped yourself.

But, no, that's not what's supposed to happen. Although, you guess you aren't supposed to be here at all. Hopefully there aren't any crazy consequenses for that.

[June confused]: "hey, you wouldn't happen to know where we are?"

Whaaaat? Hahahaha. What makes him think that?

[June looking away]: "i don't know."

[June neutral]: "i thought i might as well ask."

[June laughing]: "plus, rose told me to ask you."

Tell him. Don't tell him.

Tell him.

Don't tell him.
